Lloyd Dyck
Lloyd is the owner of BrettYoung and sits on our Board of Directors. Growing up on the family farm, he knew how to drive a truck, tractor, and combine from a young age. When he wasn’t helping out there, Lloyd would spend his weekends loading and bagging seed at BrettYoung. Soon enough, Lloyd joined the family business, being the second employee of BrettYoung after his father purchased the company name from Manitoba Pool Elevators. The pair worked out of an office in a strip mall, soon purchasing the land BrettYoung’s head office sits on today and building the seed plant. Since then, Lloyd has been President of the Northern Seed Trade Association, Director and President of Seeds Canada, Director of the American Seed Association, and Director in the International Seed Federation. He’s also received honorary awards from Seeds Canada and the Canadian Seed Analyst Association. Lloyd tries to spend all his free time with his three granddaughters. When he’s not with them, you can find Lloyd taking in a hockey game, snowboarding, fishing, kitesurfing, playing pickleball, or playing beach volleyball.
